Who dropped the ammonium nitrate topic from the agenda of the Supreme Defense Council?

Once the State Security submitted the final report, a copy was sent to President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Hassan Diab. Thus after reviewing the report, Diab decided to visit the port of Beirut, however, a call he received from a security source, which he did not disclose, caused him to withdraw from the visit and change his mind. Earlier, Diab told news reporters that he surfed Google to know more about ammonium nitrate and found out that they are fertilizers.

Significantly, the report submitted to the Supreme Defense Council wasn’t placed on the agenda for the meeting scheduled on the 28th of  July 2020, and the Secretary-General of the Higher Defense Council, Major General Mahmoud Al-Asmar, conferred responsibility to his superiors. However, a senior judicial source mentioned that the Director-General of the Lebanese Presidency, Antoine Choucair, was the one who asked to remove the report’s file of the meeting’s agenda.

Later, a letter from the secretary-general of the higher defense council was sent through the prime minister to the Minister of Works and Minister of Justice, stating that a ship loaded with ammonium nitrate is docked at the port of Beirut, requesting that measures should be taken!
